About

Reggie Billingslea
I call myself a portrait painter (only because “watercolor impressionist portrait painter” is more difficult to roll off the tongue). I think that the gradient range with watercolor, the way the translucency captures the light, added to the imperfection of doing the sketch and painting by hand can be stunningly realistic, yet in a very impressionistic way.
I have always loved painting people, mostly in city scenes. However, the joy of portrait painting came with painting my children. Capturing and bringing to life their smiles and emotions is pure delight every time!
I’m hoping to increase my media presence soon, but for right now, please stay tuned for a look at more work and upcoming exhibitions. I also do portraits. Permanent exhibitions include D.C Commission on the arts, Marriott Moxy Hotel Bastille Paris, and Hotel Caulaincourt Montmartre Paris
Feel free to contact me via sms (571-585-4110), if you’re interested in any of the pieces in this show or if you’re interested in a watercolor portrait.
